The Joys of Writing and Reflecting + 4 Writing Prompts

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the joys of writing and reflecting.

I used to collaboratively run a Bloggers Facebook group back in the day when blogging wasn’t about SEO, Influences and analytics but rather genuinely writing, sharing and supporting.

(I’ve been writing on my blog for 13 years, so it was a LONG time ago!).

The group was called Friday Reflections.

We used to provide a short list of prompts weekly to a small group of bloggers from all over the world who would select their preferred topic and blog about it on their own blogs.

We’d all then comment on and share each other posts.

The group was supportive, non-judgmental, creative and diverse.

It was wonderful.

I’m lucky to be still connected to some of those bloggers today, some who have gone on to start their own businesses, relocate countries, raise families, get married, get divorced, or deal with health issues.

And then there are those who sadly passed away. RIP Thom Brown. You made such an impact and are remembered.

I miss it.

And so, from this month onwards, I’ll provide a short list of writing prompts in my monthly e-newsletter!

I invite you to join me in selecting a prompt, reflecting and getting creative in your way!

Whether you are an avid journaler, blogger, collage maker, or something else… join me in taking time out from the hustle and bustle to reflect and be in the moment.

After all, the moment is where the magic happens.

(I recently had a HUGE epiphany from journaling about how I hide in other people’s business rather than stepping up out of the shadows. Mind blown!).

If you fancy, you can even share it with me via email or by tagging me on social and using the hashtag #MonthlyReflections.

I’d love to see what you come up with!

And now…

Here are this month’s prompts…

  • What brings you joy?
  • What advice would you give your 20-something self?
  • If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
  • How do you maintain balance in your life? Are there any changes you need to make?
